Student of the Month: September

Sam Foltz, son of Sam and Patricia Foltz, was selected September Student of the Month at Spotsylvania Career and Technical Center. His awards include the AMVETS Award of Leadership, the American Legion Award of Scholastics and Leadership, NCO of the Quarter and NCO of the Year throughout the CHCORI Battalion in JROTC for the 2014-2015 School Year, Cadet of the Month and Cadet of the Year throughout the CHCORI Battalion in JROTC for the 2013-2014 School Year. He was nominated for the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists Award of Excellence, selected to be a member of National Honor Society, selected as the Battalion Commander for the CHCORI Battalion JROTC. His community service includes being a youth minister at Vacation Bible School for Eleys Ford Baptist Church for several years, volunteering to host a Biology camp at Chancellor High School for rising freshman, being involved in many National Honor Society events such as hosting banquets at school and cleaning the school. Foltz is a student at Riverbend High School and has held a GPA of 3.804 as of last year. His future plans are to go to the Coast Guard Academy and become a Marine Biologist.
